Black Latina Yoga Teacher stands outside smiling on a Fall day

Yoga, movement and wellness have been pivotal in my life since a young age

Yoga came to me out of curiosity and a way to counterbalance the fast paced sports (hello competition cheerleading, dance and running) that dominated my younger years. I started out with taking classes via DVDs (Gen-z, are you still with me?) and found that yoga gave me a respite from more than sports, such as the pressures of overachieving in school, and it offered me a deep connection to self, fostering my spiritual practice. After that, I was in love with this ancient practice and would balance yoga with my other main ways of movement, but never as my primary source or lifestyle for that matter. The liberation of the practice still hadn’t sunk in for me.

In the early 2010s,

I turned to yoga as my sanctuary for inner peace, self love and worth, and my daily ritual.

At that time, yoga became essential in how I prepared myself to tackle my difficult work environment each day. Yoga truly became my life force and when I prioritized my practice on my mat in my San Francisco apartment each morning in my mid-20s, I felt more connected to my soul, sense of self, and core values. That takes us to 2017…

Since 2017, I have taught a range of yoga classes from corporate events, within studios, online, and even my first co-led retreat in 2024. I gained my first certification in 2017, and dove deeper into sharing my learnings and using my knowledge and voice for healing and justice. Yoga, movement, and nourishing nutrition all warm my soul and my aim is to share the sacred practices and resources of yoga with a growing community, especially those who are underserved. I deeply believe that movement, meditation, and rest are medicine to heal and foster well being and bliss.

Beyond the mat, you can find me exploring a new city, moving at my favorite class, connecting with friends, creating vegan dishes, reading a good book, or running along the sea wall in Vancouver, British Columbia. I continue to work towards more intentional rest, sharing and connecting through yoga, and volunteering my time to serve my community.
